Case Study Women Leaders Utah

Overview

A group of women leaders from various higher-education, business and non-profit organizations had been trying to implement an innovative online registry tool to bring women leaders in Utah and leadership positions together.  This group had identified that most boards and commissions in Utah were still dominated by men.  After almost 7 years and several unsucessful starts with other technology companies, they came to CentralPoint Systems.

Custom Solutions

  • Provided leadership and a strategic plan for the design, implementation and extensibility of the virtual registry .
  • Provided logo and site design for easy site maintenance by non-technical volunteers in a content management system.
  • Built a customized and automated searchable database and profile management system that requires a bare minimum of administrative oversight.

Results

Within just a few months CentralPoint was able to make their vision a reality.  The site was launched at the University of Utah College of Social Work to much fanfare in March 2009.  The growth of virtual registry participants, the website traffic and ultimately the proven ability to increase "the influence and visibility of women leaders in Utah" led to the adoption of the registry as a sponsored program at Women's Business Institute at Salt Lake Community College in June 2010.
